City to expand online tee time availability for Ala Wai, Ted Makalena golf courses

O’AHU – Online tee time reservations will soon be available for all tee times at the Ala Wai and Ted Makalena municipal golf courses via the automated tee time reservation system, the City’s Department of Enterprise Services announced Tuesday.

In late 2021, when City Golf implemented online tee time reservation capabilities, reservations for the 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. tee times at Ala Wai and Ted Makalena were purposefully withheld from the system and were only available via phone reservation. This decision was made to provide long-time users of the telephone reservation system — at two of the City’s most-popular courses — an adjustment period, to familiarize themselves with the online reservations.

Starting the week of July 1, 2024, those early morning time slots will be added to the online reservation system inventory, allowing golfers to conveniently book any tee time, using either the online system or the telephone system.

This will complete the final phase of City Golf’s automated tee time conversion upgrade. The City’s West Loch, Ewa Villages, Pali and Kahuku golf courses already offer all of their tee times online, and reservations are still available over the phone.

Only golfers with a valid City and County of Honolulu Golf ID Card will be allowed to make online tee time reservations seven days in advance at http://www.teetimes.honolulu.gov. Golfers must have a Golf ID Card and must update their account profile with current information to activate online tee time capabilities at http://www.golf.honolulu.gov.
