Closure of Kalo Place Mini Park extended for additional grass maintenance

New park facilities part of public-private partnership with Hawaiian Humane Society

MAKIKI -- The closure of Kalo Place Mini Park is being extended until late-October 2019 to allow the newly planted grass time to thrive.

The park was closed in April, with the initial closure extended due to additional facilities being added to the park as part of a public-private partnership with the Hawaiian Humane Society. Those additional facilities include an off-leash dog park for large and small dogs, irrigation, and additional fencing.

The Department of Parks and Recreation will provide further updates when the park is expected to reopen to the public.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while this park remains closed.
